After the collection of various agro-ecological parameters in the field, the soil and plant samples taken must be examined in the laboratory. During transport and storage of the samples, cooling is absolutely necessary in order to minimize weight loss and the resulting shrinkage of plant parts and thus falsification of the measurement results. 

The following parameters are determined in the laboratory:

  • the unilateral leaf area
  • wet and dry biomass
  • wet and dry weight of the soil sample to derive the soil moisture content
