Laserscanning with LiDAR Systems

The MLUGEO drone team at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg has been using a UAV LiDAR system (Yellowscan Mapper+) since 2022. The high-resolution laser scanner is intended to support use cases of digital relief analysis. Application scenarios include crop monitoring, erosion analysis or the detection of field stones on arable land. The trailer gives impressions of the use of the system within the research project AgriSens DEMMIN 4.0.

Thermal flights in the stone detection application case

The trailer below this text shows impressions of our UAV team's field campaign for drone-based stone detection on a potato field in Leussin (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) at the end of March 2021. The campaign is part of the stone detection use case in the AgriSens DEMMIN 4.0 research project and serves to develop digitization methods in agriculture. The investigations into the detectability of field stones using drones focus on the use of thermal sensor technology (DJI Zenmuse H20T).
